dssconfessions

about
dssconfessions is a personal project i created for upskilling and experimenting with a more interactive social experience.
the platform is designed around anonymous confessions. users do not need to reveal their identity unless they choose to include their name in the confession themselves. each confession can be addressed to a specific person, paired with a song, and optionally include the sender's name.

case study
students at davao del sur state college already have an online space where they share confessions, rants, stories, and random thoughts. most of these are posted through a facebook group, where different types of submissions are mixed together in one feed.
i wanted to explore what that experience would feel like if it had its own dedicated platform.
that idea became dssconfessions.
instead of posting a general anonymous message, users can make the confession feel more personal by adding a specific recipient through the to field. they can also include a from name if they want to reveal themselves, although it remains completely optional.
inspired by send the song, i also added music as part of the confession experience. a user can attach a song that matches the message, whether it is something romantic, funny, nostalgic, or simply part of the context behind the confession.
users can also save confessions they want to revisit later, making the platform feel less temporary than a regular social media post.
the project became an opportunity for me to practice building a complete web experience around a simple idea while thinking about anonymity, personalization, user interaction, and how small features can make a familiar concept feel more engaging.
